The Pulaski County Maroons erased a 17-point third quarter deficit on Monday night in the opening round of the Lake Cumberland Holiday Hoops Classic, to remain perfect on the season with a come from behind, 79-69 win over Fern Creek.
Gavin Stevens led Pulaski County in the win with a game-high 24 points, with 19 of those coming after the intermission.
Cayden Lancaster added 20 points in the win for the Maroons, while Zach Travis added 17 points, and Caleb Sloan tallied all 11 of his points at crunch time in the fourth quarter of play.
The Maroons — improving to 13-0 on the season with Monday’s win — will return to action in the tourney on Tuesday night at The PC Gym, taking on Mt. Healthy Ohio at 7:15 p.m.
In other action in Monday’s opening day of the tournament, on the boy’s side of things, it was Southwestern falling to Harlan 87-84, and Aiken High School out of Cincinnati dropped Somerset by a final count of 45-33.
