The Pulaski County Lady Maroons have enjoyed a very successful season so far on the hardwood, but in the always tough, 47th District, Chris Adkins’ club had really nothing to show for it, thanks to an early-season, 63-37 loss on the road at Casey County.
On Friday night however, that all changed and then some, as the Lady Maroons went on the road inside the district for the second time this season, and came away with arguably, one of the biggest wins of the year up to this point of the season.
Adkins and crew traveled to Rockcastle County on Friday night, and evened that record against district foes to 1-1 on the year, and improved to 12-4 overall on the season with an impressive, 56-47 win over the Lady Rockets.
PC raced out to a 34-18 lead in this one by halftime, and held on down the stretch for the nine-point victory.
Haylee Ridner led the Lady Maroons with 16 points in the win, while Dawn Wilson added 15 points for PC, and Heidi Thompson chipped in with 13 points.
Pulaski County — 12-4 on the season — will return to action on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. taking on Lincoln County on the road.
