The Southwestern Lady Warriors picked up a district win on Tuesday night in impressive fashion, knocking off 48th District foe Wayne County by a final tally of 65-37.
Junior Molden’s club put this one away early, by coming out of the gate and hitting the Lady Cardinals with a 17-2 run in the first quarter.
Already leading this one by those 15 points at the end of the first stanza, Southwestern all but put this one away, leading Wayne County at the break by a score of 33-14.
Regi Cundiff paced the Lady Warriors in the win with 17 points, giving Molden and crew a 5-1 start to the season.
Southwestern will be seeking win number six of the season on Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m., as the Lady Warriors begin play in the annual Smokey Mountain Classic at Gatlinburg-Pittman High School.
The Lady Warriors will meet up against Saltillo, Mississippi in that contest.
