The Pulaski County Lady Maroons — off to a 4-0 start to tip off the 2019-’20 high school basketball season — took that perfect mark on the road on Tuesday night for arguably, their biggest test up to date, and Chris Adkins and crew took one on the chin.
Playing at Danville against the Lady Admirals, Adkins and crew only managed to score two points in the second quarter, and that helped Danville race out to a 31-16 lead by the intermission.
Having to play from behind in the second half, the Lady Maroons could not get back in this one, suffering their first loss of the season with a 73-38 loss to the Lady Admirals.
Pulaski County placed nine players in double figures, led by Heidi Thompson with eight points.
The Lady Maroons will be back in action on Friday night, taking on highly-touted Casey County on the road in a 47th District matchup.
That game is slated to tip off in Liberty at 6 p.m. and will be the first game of a girl-boy doubleheader.
