The Russellville Panthers proved to be the perfect homecoming opponent on Friday night for a Somerset team that was undefeated coming in, and the number-one ranked team in the state of Kentucky in Class 2 A.
Simply, Robbie Lucas and company ran roughshod over the visitors from Logan County who limped into the contest winless on the season with an 0-5 record.
Alex Miller rushed for a game-high 170 yards, scoring three touchdowns along the way, while quarterback Kaiya Sheron was a perfect, 6-6 through the air for 82 yards and a TD pass.

Jerrod Smith got in on the fun with 77 yards on seven carries and a score, and Mikey Garland had a 40-yard fumble return for another touchdown for Somerset.
In short, the Panthers were no match for a Somerset team that has been on a roll since the opening kick of the 2019 high school football season.
Somerset will put its number-one state ranking and undefeated record on the line on Friday night, as the 5-0 Briar Jumpers will travel to Hazard to face a Bulldog team that is 5-1 on the season, and has won five games in a row after a season-opening, 22-20 loss to Harlan County.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
