Warriors bounce back with win over Commodores

Southwestern’s Brayden Sims scored 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds on Tuesday night, helping the Warriors snap a two-game losing slide with a 61-51 win over Perry County Central.

After back to back losses last week to Boyle County and Pulaski County, the Southwestern Warriors got back to their winning ways on Tuesday night,

Cole Dysinger paced Southwestern with 23 points, while dishing out four assists, and Brayden Sims added 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds, helping Chris Baker and company to a 61-51 win over visiting Perry County Central.

Southwestern led this one at the half over the Commodores 27-23, and took firm control of the contest by outscoring the visitors 19-12 in the third period, taking a double digit lead into the fourth quarter.



Cameron Pierce had a very nice game with seven points and four assists, and he led the Warriors with 10 boards.

Andrew Smith tallied six points in the win, while adding five rebounds and four assists.

The victory improved Southwestern to 13-15 on the season, and the game marked the Warriors final game this season in the friendly confines at The Wigwam.

Southwestern will close out the regular season on Thursday night at Cordia, before beginning play in the 48th District Tournament next Monday night, February 18th.

Southwestern will begin post play at McCreary Central High School taking on the homestanding Raiders.

The winner of that game will move on to the championship game of the tournament to face Wayne County.
