LIBERTY — The Pulaski County Maroons ran their winning streak to three games in a row on Tuesday night, picking up a big district win in the process on the road.

John Fraley’s club raced out to a big lead after the first quarter of play, and never looked back in knocking off the Casey County Rebels by a final score of 90-74.

Four players from Pulaski County hit for double figures in the win, led by Colton Fraley’s 26 points.

The junior point guard led the Maroons with four, three-point baskets in the victory, and he got a lot of help from his teammates as well.

Grant Oaks scored 12 of his 17 points in the second half, while both of the Combs’ brothers — Jake and KJ — each contributed 14 points in the win for the Maroons.

Pulaski County raced out to a 27-10 lead over the Rebels after the first period of play, and despite the fact Casey County cut that deficit to single digits at 43-34 by halftime, the Maroons never relinquished control of this contest.

With the win, Pulaski County improved its overall record on the season to 12-7, while moving to 3-1 on the year in district play.

The game at Casey County also began a brutal stretch for the Maroons, with six straight games on the road for Pulaski County.

Coach Fraley and company will return to action on Friday night taking on Clay County, in a rematch of a game just before Christmas at the M & W Classic, in a game that was hosted by the Maroons.

In that contest, Jake Combs led Pulaski County with 17 points and Garrett Heath added 15, but Clay County prevailed with a 71-66 victory.

Friday night’s game in Manchester is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m.
