The Pulaski County Lady Maroons got back to their winning ways on Friday night in the third round of the M & W Shootout, picking up a 74-56 victory over visiting Menifee County.
Chris Adkins club led virtually the entire way, getting a game-high 30-point performance from Heidi Thompson.
For Pulaski County, the Lady Maroons hit 10 three-pointers in the contest, on their way to moving to 7-4 on the season.
Haylee Ridner joined Thompson in double figures with 12 points, and Gabby Countryman came off the PC bench to chip in with 11 points.
Meanwhile, the Southwestern Lady Warriors remained perfect on the year, moving to 7-0 on the season with an impressive, 58-30 beatdown over Lexington Christian in the tourney.
Stephen Butcher’s club led the visiting Lady Eagles the virtually the entire way, racing out to a huge, 16-3 lead after the first quarter, while extending that margin to 30-5 by halftime.
This game was over at that juncture, as the issue had long since been decided.
Southwestern got up by as much as 36 points over the Lady Eagles, before settling for the 28-point win.
Kennedy Harris paced Southwestern with 18 points, while Regi Cundiff and Kylie Foreman also hit for double figures with 11 points each.
Southwestern will end play today in the M & W Shootout by hosting Frederick Douglass at 6:30 p.m.
The Lady Maroons meanwhile will end play in the tourney this evening at The PC Gym, hosting Lexington Christian at 6:30 p.m.
