Congratulations goes out this morning  to former Pulaski County head coach Dave Fraley who earned the 700th victory of his Hall of Fame coaching career last night, leading Powell County to a 91-51 win over Lee County.

Fraley — who has won multiple regional titles while leading several teams to state tournament appearances — led Pulaski County to a state championship back in the 1985-’86 season.

The former Maroon coach is seen here after Wednesday night’s win with his wife Janice, along with his sons Shannon Fraley and current Pulaski County head coach John Fraley.

I was fortunate enough to cover coach Fraley and Pulaski County during both of his stints as the Maroons head coach.

It was an honor and a privilege, and I have many, many fond memories of what I call ‘The good ole’ days’ when I was covering Fraley’s Pulaski County basketball teams.

So, congratulations coach Fraley. You certainly are a living legend, and a true Hall of Famer.

However, more importantly than those things, you’re a great man and have been a very good friend to me over the past three decades.

Congrats pal.
