MONTICELLO — Playing in their first ‘true’ road game of the season on Tuesday night, John Fraley and the Pulaski County Maroons picked up a monumental win against the preseason number-one ranked team inside the 12th Region in Wayne County, winning in overtime 83-79.
This game was close throughout, with the home-standing Cardinals leading PC by a 37-35 margin at the half.
In a nip and tuck affair, it was Fraley and company that made the plays down the stretch to come out with a hard-fought win.
Jake Combs led Pulaski County with a game-high 23 points in the win, and he was joined by three other Maroon players in double figures.
Colton Fraley added 20 points for the 3-1 Maroons, while Grant Oaks played a solid game on the inside for PC with 18 points, and Garrett Heath chipped in with 14 points.
The road for Pulaski County doesn’t get any easier when the Maroons return to action at home this Friday evening.
Madison Central — ranked number five in preseason polls in Kentucky — and led by WKU signee Isaiah Cozart will invade The PC Gym on Friday night.
Tip-off for that game is slated to get underway at 7:30 p.m.
